The U-12 Girl’s also appeared in a league final this weekend and unfortunately it was a similar story to the U-16’s. A disappointing opening half left them with too much to do. However a superb second half saw them outscore Ballymachugh and threaten a comeback but in the end they could just not manage it.
However, everybody connected with the side should take great encouragement from their efforts as reaching a League Final in their opening season is a tremendous achievement. As the above photos show there is a huge interest in the girls team, both on and off the field, and an even higher level of enjoyment.
Training continues every Sunday morning and a series of blitzes will occur throughout the Summer and Autumn with the Championship also due to take place. The future of the club looks secure for many years to come.
