SENIORS

The Seniors continue to re-group after their championship exit and prepare for their relegation play-off against Ballinagh at 1pm on Sunday 30th in Cootehill.  Despite defeating Lacken in the group stages, the club find themselves in this position and the pressure is really on as defeat against Ballinagh could leave them with just one more chance to survive at Senior level.

Having worked so hard to try and secure promotion to Division One, this relegation battle has came as a shock and it will test the spirit of the side as we enter the last couple of months of the season.

JUNIORS

In stark contrast to the Seniors slump, the Juniors continue their super form.  On Wednesday evening they gained their second successive victory in the Junior B championship with a 0-12 to 1-7 victory away to Killygarry.  For more details, please click here. They are now into the semi-finals and will face Castlerahan on Wednesday (19th) although as of yet time & venue have not been confirmed. Please check www.kingscourtstars.ie for confirmation of this later in the week.

Following on from that, the side faced Knockbride in their final league match in Division Four at home on Sunday.  Knowing they needed a win to ensure a play-off for promotion they hit the ground running and gained a 3-11 to 0-11 victory. For further details, please click here.

 MINOR

Preparation for the Minor Championship has started with the team back training.  The draw finally took place on Thursday 13th August and again we have been done no favours.

We are away to perennial top guns, Cavan Gaels on 8th September with the winners facing the winners of Killan Gaels v St. Joseph’s.  So there ye go lads, if that doesn’t focus the mind in training for the next few weeks, then nothing will….

U-16’s

The biggest game of the season for the U-16’s this week.. After reaching the League final they were defeated by the Gaels.  Now, after an impressive quarter final win away to Gowna, they must again face their old rivals when they face Cavan Gaels in the Semi Final of the Championship at home on Tuesday (18th) at 7pm.

This will be a hugely difficult match and the side could do with plenty of support.  So come on, bring the kids out for a run, the dog out for a walk, just make your way down to the park and enjoy the bright evenings before they are gone.  Oh yeah, while you’re there, do plenty of shouting….

U-13’s

The 13’s opened their league campaign with a trip to Bailieboro last week. They competed well in the first half but were eventually over powered by the home side and lost by a scoreline of 4-8 to 1-3.  A report and match pictures are available here. The side has a bye this week and are next in action on Monday 24th at home to Crosserlough.
