Kingscourt is a relatively small town situated in the bottom corner of East Cavan. It’s right on the border of Monaghan and Meath with the boundary to Louth not far away also.
Aside from the famous GAA club, the town would be well known for other gems such as the Forest Park, Cabra Castle, Evie Hone’s stainglass windows in the Church and the wide main street (humour me here!). Below is a selection of some of these sights. Thanks to Robbie Clarke for supplying the pictures.
To get a view of the town click on either of the below Google or OSI Maps.
Click here for OSI map and just keep zooming in towards the town, will take a little while but you’ll see us eventually (come on I can’t do everything for you!)
Directions: (In a very basic sense, I ain’t AA Roadwatch!)
Head for the N3. Go through Dunshaughlin & Navan. Take the R127 (3rd right) when you enter Navan up the hill. 2nd exit at the roundabout, on through Wilkinstown & Nobber and were the next town. Take a right at the 2nd roundabout and the pitch is halfways down the hill on the left
Take the M1 to Dundalk (well more or less). Exit there, head for Carrickmacross. As you come into Carrick, keep left and take a left at the lights and then a right at the bottom of the hill. Another 8 mile and you there. Pitch on your right hand side as you come up the hill.
Head for Dublin, take a turn off for Mullingar. Once you reach bypass, keep an eye for Delvin. Then on through, Clonmellon, Kells, Moynalty and then little old us. Come straight through the roundabout and pitch halfways down the hill on your left
Ah come on. If you get lost, give us a ring!
