After missing out on four in a row in 1992, the Seniors proved many wrong by regaining their crown in 1993 with a final victory over Gowna.  They quietly made there way through the campaign defeating Cavan Gaels in the quarter finals, before overcoming Lavey in the semi’s.

IN the final they faced an up and coming Gowna side that were fancied to kill off the old timers.  However, the combination of the old, experienced heads allied with some new blood saw through.  Goals from Alan Gargan and Tommy McCaul and 0-6 from Joe McCarthy saw Kingsocurt victorious by 2-8 to 0-8 with “Jumpin’ Joe” Dillon doing what he done best with a Man of The Match performance at midfield.

In may well have been the last success of that great team (with Dillon, Jim Reilly, Barry McArdle and Pat & Michael Faulkner each claiming their 8th Senior Chmapionships) but they certainly went out with a bang and the legacy of that team will long live in the memory of those who were lucky to watch them offer the years.
