KINGSCOURT 0-17 REDHILLS 0-4
The Seniors secured their eight successive victory of the season with a facile 0-17 to 0-4 victory over Redhills in yet another home match down the Park on Friday evening. Right from the off there was a casual tone to the match and Kingscourt took control with early points from Colm Smith, Philly Tinnelly and Philly Smith helping the Stars into an early 0-4 to 0-0 lead.
The 2nd quarter continued in much the same tone with Kingscourt utterly dominant but some wayward shooting and poor efforts on goal meant points from Mark McKeown & Daryl Martin were the highlight. A couple of late points from Redhills narrowed the gap to 0-9 to 0-3 at halftime.
Despite the dominant position, a casual 1st half performance saw the influx of Mark McGovern & Barry Tully in the second half and both injected some well needed energy to proceedings. Further points from both Smiths and Barry Tully ensured the points were well secured by the end of the 3rd quarter as the lead was extended to 0-13 to 0-3.
The final quarter saw a return to the opening half with casual play, wayward efforts and poor goal efforts coming to the fore but further points from Daryl Martin and Philly Tinnelly finished the game. At the welcoming sound of the final whistle the Stars were 13 points clear.
