The Seniors continued their great run with a six point victory over a strong Mullahoran side in O’Raghallaigh Park on a sunny Wednesday evening.  However despite the seemingly comfortable victory, the Stars will know there is still pletny of work to do ahead of the Championship as a less profligate Mullahoran attack could have saw the outcome easily reversed.

Kingscourt opened brightly when Barry Reilly slotted over from a very narrow angle. A Mullahoran equaliser was quickly cancelled when Ryan McCormack despatched a fifth minute penalty to net ,just about!  Further points from Daryl Martin and Mark McKeown increased the Stars lead before Mullahoran closed the gap to the minimum at 1-3 to 0-5.

However Kingscourt finished the half strongly with Philly Tinnelly & McCormack punishing some wayward Mullahoran shooting to give the Stars a somewhat fortunate 1-6 to 0-6 halftime lead.

The 2nd half continued in the same vain with Mullahoran in control at midfield and attacking through half forward line but being unable to put away enough chances.  As the wides mounted up, Mossy Malone and Mark McKeown increased the home side’s advantage with some great score.

As we entered the final quarter, Kingscourt started to gain some greater control and further scores from Reilly & McCormack saw us pulling up as the game reached it’s conclusion.  All told a satisfactory win for the Stars put a concern will remain over the chance created by the visitors ahead of our upcoming league and championship double against Cuchullains.
