SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The seniors took to Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday evening for the first game of the Championship against Denn. The opening score of the game came within a minute of throw in from Denn, this was followed quickly by their second point. Leaving them 0-2 up with just over a minute on the clock. Points from Barry Reilly (0-2) and Joe MacMahon (0-1) put Kingscourt ahead by a point 11 mins into the first half. Denn levelled the game 12mins in. Frees taken by Philly Smith and Barry Reilly left the stars 0-5 v 0-3 up at half time.
The second half looked more promising for the Dun a Ri men with goals from Philly Smith and Joe Dillion and a point from Sean Og Gargan Kingscourt pushed ahead 2-6 v Denn 0-3. Denns Dean Hyland popped one across the bar which was answered by 2 points from Philly Smith and goal from Colm Smith. Kingscourt lead 3-8 v 0-4 at the half way stage in the second half. Denn never seemed to be able to pick up the pace only scoring one more point in the second half. Points from Joe MacMahon, Sean Og Gargan, Mark McKeown and Joe Dillion left the stars with a comfortable 3-12 to Denns 0-5.
The next game is fixed for Saturday 4th August at 8pm against Lavey in Ramor United Park, Virginia. All support welcome!

East Cavan Gaels Hurling Club.
Under 12/14;
The under 13s continue with the league in Breffni 3G on Friday nights. We also have lads training with the Cavan under 12 and 14 Development Squads and we hope to have our very first county representatives soon. New players are always welcome to this squad. We cater for players from Bailieborough, Knockbride, Killenkere, Shercock and Kingscourt so if you are interested or you know of someone who is interested in playing hurling then send them to St. Anne’s Park, Bailieborough any Wednesday at 7.30.
Under 8/10;
The lads had a good days hurling at Breffni 3G blitz on Sunday last. Thanks to Ballymachugh, St. Felims and Annalee Gaels for 3 great games. They now move to one of the most important blitzes of the summer when they travel to Castleblayney this coming Wednesday to take on the hosts plus Cuchuillianns and Derrynoose from Armagh. These are top quality hurling clubs so it will be a great evenings hurling. Throw in is at 7pm sharp.
