East Cavan Gaels Hurling Club News 24th February 2014

Under 12/14/16;
Our Under 12 squad began the Spring League with a victory against Oliver Plunkets on the 3G on Saturday night. A very positive start for the boys. Round 2 on 5th March V St. Feilims.
Our Under 14s begin the tri-county league next Sunday. Once again we are in Division 1, (of 3), of this competition which is great credit to the management and players. We play Lisbellaw from Fermanagh, Inniskeen and Carrick Emmets from Monaghan and St. Feilims from Cavan in what is sure to be another competitive competition. First up is the short trip to Carrickmacross to play Carrick Emmets at 1pm on Sunday next. All support is very welcome.

Under 6/8/10;
Another strong squad made the trip to Carrick for our fifth blitz of the year so far and they all played exceptionally well. Training for both groups again this week with another blitz scheduled for 8th March.

New President;
Everyone at East Cavan Gaels sends their congratulations to Aogón O’ Farrell on his election as President elect of the GAA. Aogón knows all about hurling in weaker counties and we are sure his election will bring good news for weaker/developing counties for hurling.
