Cuchullains 3-3
Kingscourt 13-4
Despite the poor, unseasonal (although that’s debatable!) conditions, the Girls put in their best perofrmance so far this season. They may have conceded a goal in the first minute but after that they were superb and had found the back of the net at least five times by halftime.
The second half was similar except the rain got even worse, but the goals kept raining in too (sorry). At times it was hard to keep count, in fact some lightening quick thinking from Rachel Shekelton even caught the referee out. As the Cuchullains keeper quickly kicked the ball out after conceding a goal, Rachel was so quick on pouncing on the ball that she sent it back over the keeper’s head into the corner of the net again. When the ref turned round, he had missed it all but in fairness, so had many others!
At the halfway stage, the Girls are following the lead of Seniors as they sit top of the division with a huge score difference. Next up is an trip to Stradone on Tuesday 23rd June at 7pm. Based on this recent performance, it could be a trip well worth making. Well done Girls. Below are some pictures from the game.
