Kingscourt’s 100% record in Division 4 was obliterated in o’Raghaillaigh Park on Wednesday evening as a strong Ballinagh side were rampantand the home side had no answers.
Right from the off the visitors were in control and after 10 minutes led 0-6 to 0-1. Two goals in the second quarter saw the hosts trail 2-8 to 0-2 at halftime. The expected bite from the homeside materialised and four early points gave them brief hope before a quick counter attack saw Ballinagh register their third goal of the evening.
After that the game was definitely over but credit to Kingscourt they conitnued to slot over some nice scores but a late Ballinagh penalty compounded the home sides misery and inflicted their first defeat of the year and will ensure plenty of hard work is to be done ahead of their championship opener against Crosserlough despite sitting top of Division 4.
